December 12, Qualifying

The final race of CCC was scheduled on Friday and Saturday in Shanghai TMS Circuit and it was the first time that CCC came to this track. Getting to know the track is every driver's top priority this weekend.

The 2000cc class qualifying had a one-hour delay due to timing system failure and the qualifying was separated into two groups. Gan Look, Chu Han Huang and Billy Tseng finished 1st 2nd and 3rd respectively. Rainey He, one of the lead drivers in Changan Ford Racing Team, captured 5th and Henry Lee was 9th while Ben Zuo was 11th.

Billy Tseng and Gan Look did a good job in free practice and the dark horse from Chengdu race—Chu Han Huang (Shanghai SRT team) captured 2nd after only several laps. Gan Look established his pole position in lap 6. Changan Ford Racing team had an engine problem during practice and the mechanics had to focus on the engine which didn't left them enough time to work on the final touch to the car setup.

Saturday race will last 39 laps and it will be a real test to the tyres. With the current qualifying position, it will be hard for Changan Ford Racing Team drivers to start a team work in the race.

December 13, Race

The final race of China Circuit Championship came to Shanghai TMS Circuit on December 13th. Due to the fact that Team LF already got the team and driver Champion of 2008, the spotlight will be mainly focused on the 1st runner-up this weekend. The TMS track is short & narrow which made it very hard for the drivers to overtake during the race.

Chuhan Huang made a good start and managed to overtake pole sitter Ken Look at the very beginning. Billy Tseng & Jiancheng Song managed to overtake from the inside and sit 2nd and 3rd respectively. The beginning of the race was very exciting and the drivers were pushing very hard. There were lot of contact at first corner and safety car was sent out & led the race for four laps.

In lap 5, Jiancheng Song missed the brake point and ran into the sand area. Chuhan Huang was still leading the race. Henry Lee (Changan Ford Racing Team) caught up and made to 5th while Rainey He, another lead driver in the team, fell to 11th. Chuhan Huang had to take a pit lane drive through penalty in lap 10 and Billy Tseng, Ken Look and Lou Ka Fai took over the lead group. In lap 21, Henry Lee continued to drive very consistently and made to 3rd by overtaking Lou Hung Pui and Lou Ka Fai. Ken Look suffered mechanical problem and drove to the pit by lap 34 and Henry Lee moved to 2nd.

According to regulation, the race will be entering its last lap when reaches 44 minutes. Billy Tseng was 1st, while Henry Lee and Lou Ka Fai captured 2nd and 3rd respectively. Ben Zuo, the young promising driver of Changan Ford Racing Team, finished 8th. Henry Lee indicated after the race “ The team made an effective tyre strategy which allowed me to give a steady performance.”

KIA 778 Team won the team 1st runner up, Hua Yang Team was 3rd and Changan Ford Racing Team captured 4th. Ken Look, Billy Tseng and Paul Poon were the top 3 drivers of the year. Henry Lee and Rainey He, 2 lead drivers in Changan Ford Racing Team, were 5th and 6th.
