December 12, Qualifying

The 2008 final race of Ford Formula Campus Championship was rearranged to Shanghai TMS Circuit on December 12 th & 13 th .

Martin Cao, Xinzhe Xie and Gaoxiang Fan put up a close fight on points table and Martin Cao indicated:”I have found a good car setup in the past three races, but still have to work on my reliability. I only have a small lead on the points table and I believe the coming race will be a tough one.”

The qualifying of Ford Formula Campus started at 12:10 p.m. and Martin Cao (Belano Team) captured pole position (1:08.408). Juan Carlos Zhu (Kumho Tire Team) qualified 2 nd and Gaoxiang Fan was 3 rd . Martin, Carlos, Xinzhe Xie and Gaoxiang are certainly going to be the main focus tomorrow.

December 13, Race

The 2008 final race of Ford Formula Campus Championship was supposed to bring excitement to the race weekend as there was a close fight started by several young promising drivers on points table.

First round, pole sitter Martin Cao led the race from the very beginning and captured 1 st , while two other young drivers Juan Carlos Zhu and Gaoxiang Fan finished 2 nd and 3 rd respectively. The international category, on the other hand, also put up a good show with Diana Rosario finishing 1 st and Ka Lok Chin, the celebrity driver from Hong Kong, captured 2 nd . Drivers all indicated that TMS track was short and narrow and it felt like driving on a karting track.

The 2 nd round started in the afternoon and Martin Cao continued his good performance and won the race while Gaoxiang Fan and Xingzhe Xie captured 2 nd and 3 rd respectively. Diana Rosario finished 1 st in International category. Drivers all indicated that it was a fun track to go and the first turn was very tough.

Martin Cao won the final champion in China Category, while Gaoxiang Fan captured 1 st runner-up and Xinzhe Xie was 2 nd runner-up. In International Category, the celebrity driver—Ka Lok Chin won the season champion, while Diana Rosario and Rich Pham were the 1 st runner-up and 2 nd runner-up.
