As the race went off, Paul Poon set a good start as a pole-sitter. Aaron Kwok, who qualified 7th, was attacked by the other drivers and found no chance to overtake. GT Race has become a traditional event for the Challenge Show. After the last race in Pan Delta this June, drivers are well-prepared to join it again. The two EVO 9 cars from He Xian Le and David Tan, which are aimed at challenging Farrari's dominant position in AGT, were drawing fans' attention. In the first round, David Tan and William Lok finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. David Tan claimed the Round 2 winner trophy, He Xian Le finishing 2nd and Zheng Ting 3rd.
Qualifying
The qualifying began at 4:40pm. There are some new faces joining this race: the president of Ghiasports racing team Sam Hui raced with his own GT2. With the experience of CTCC Round 3 in Chengdu, He Xian Le put on a good show and qualified 2nd. The new driver Sun Zheng who raced with a Porsche GT2 became pole-sitter.
Round 1
As Round 1 went off, Shun Zheng set a good start and turned around at the first corner quickly while He Xian Lei and David Tan followed closely. He Xian Le managed to overtake Sun Zheng after a wonderful flight and moved up to the lead. Anyway, He Xian Lei was retired from the race regretfully due to the technical problem with his car. Sun Zheng took the chance and climbed back to No.1, David Tan 1st Runner-up and William Lok positioned 3rd.
Round 2
As the race started, Sun Zheng performed well and took the lead at the beginning of the race with his Porche911. But unfortunately, he gave away his lead to David Tan since his car was suffering from the technical problem and had to lead back to the pit area. After fixing the problem and got back to the track, it's already too late for Sun Zheng to take back his leading position. David Tan kept the lead till the end and grabbed the Round 2 winner trophy.
The chief coordinator of AGT Series indicated:ˇ±Thanks for AGT drivers, your fully support enabled us to overcome all the difficulties and hold these two rounds successfully. It is a great opportunity to run with powerful engines in SIC with its wonderful track. Round 5&6 will be moved to Zhuhai in September and I am sure it will be another fierce competition.ˇ± For more info please go to FRDwebsite:www.frdsports.com |
