2010 Challenge Show--- a successful and meaningful event

The Challenge Show together with Mr. Jet Li‘s One Foundation and a group of artists traveled to Shanghai, the host city of the 2010 EXPO on August 14th - 15th. Due to the sudden announcement that August 15th was assigned as the National Mourning Day for Zhouqu by the Central government, the Celebrity Charity Race was forced to move to Aug 16th. With the strong support and understanding from Mr. Jet Li, the artists and the sponsors, FRD, the organizer of the event, completed the mission successfully and collected a charitable donation of RMB 400,000 for the One Foundation. Renault China and BACLO Watch donated RMB 300,000 and RMB 100,000 respectively. Disregard of the postponement, a strong group of 8,000 spectators came to SIC to support this event.

A Palm Printing Ceremony symbolizing the support from the artists and sponsors; Yokohama Tires, Renault China and BALCO Watch, was held before the race. After the ceremony, the artists put on their helmets and turned their attention to the race ; Aaron Kwok, Ekin Cheng, Chilam Cheung, Athena Chu, Ka Lok Chin, Carlo Ng, Michelle Ye, San San Lee, Niki Chou, Wen Zhang, Ethan Ruan, and Annie Liu fought a strong 6 laps and the top 3 winners in the Male Class were Carlo Ng, Ka Lok Chin and Aaron Kwok respectively. In the Female Class, Niki Chow and Michelle Ye finished 2nd and 3rd while Annie Liu, the Taiwan artist, who joined this race for the first time captured the first place trophy.

Other than the famous Celebrity Charity race, the C1 also featured other professional series in the same weekend; AFR, Clio Cup China Series and Asian GT Series. It also attracted extensive coverage by a number of prominent media such as CCTV-5, TVB, Phoenix TV, China Television, Auto News, Auto fans, Car & Driver, Sina, Sohu, Tencent etc.

Taking this opportunity, the organizer would like to thank all of our sponsors especially Changan Ford, a supporter for this event since 2006, supplied a fleet of Changan Ford Focus race car for the race; Renault China, provided a fleet of KOLEOS SUV for the artists' reception and daily transportation during the event. Renault China also supplied a fleet of Megane CC for the artist's Parade; Yokohama Tires, pledged support to the Palm Printing Ceremony. Last but not least, Dunlop Tires provided all the tires for the Celebrity Charity Race and technical support to the AGT Series and Clio Cup China Series.
