Changan Ford Racing Team won both the Manufacturer Cup Championship and Driver Championship in 2011 CTCC

The last round of CTCC was held last weekend in STC and the Changan Ford Racing Team completed the mission by winning both the Team Championship and the Driver Championship which was won by Andy Yan, a driver who has been driving for the team the last three years.
Qualifying—Four drivers gained good positions
Because of the length of Shanghai Tianma Circuit, the qualifying on Saturday was separated into two groups: Andy Yan, Rainey He and Jiang Tengyi were assigned in the first group. Fan Gaoxiang was in the second group. After both sessions were done, four Changan Ford drivers were sitting comfortably 2, 3, 4 and 6. Andy Yan who was leading the Championship started from the fourth position.
Race - Changan Ford Racing Team took home two trophies
The race was started under overcast sky. The front group got off to a good start and moved through the converging T1 safely. Lo Ka Jun, who started from the pole, lead the pack with three Ford Focus following behind him closely. A Nissan Tiida crashed heavily on lap 1 forcing the safety car to come out.
Race control gave Rainey He a drive through penalty as a result of jump start. This dropped him all the way to the back and that left only Tengyi to provide the protection for Andy. Tengyi did an amazing job to accomplish this assignment and contributed greatly to Andy’s success in securing a good position to finish the race and gained the needed points to secure the Driver Championship.

“I feel excited for the result of winning the driver title. Today’s race was a tough one as my car is carrying additional 140kg due to the weight compensation system. I really really appreciate the assistance that I got from my team mate Jiang Tengyi. He had a faster car today but decided to stay behind to buffer the attacks. I have to thank him somehow but I hope he doesn’t ask me to give him part of my bonus .”
