In 2008, the Chinese Formula Renault Championship will host 10 races at 4 major events. The Chinese Series represents a series at a reduced cost compared to the Asian series since all the races are held in China . Both the Chinese and Asian series drivers will race at the same time during the races in China but points will be calculated separately

The Asian Formula Renault Championship on the other hand representing the pinnacle of Formula motor sport in Asia . It will race 12 rounds in China and 2 rounds in Sepang.
