Formula Campus is a strong entry level series for those drivers seeking careers in formula car racing. Internationally recognized as one of the most technologically advanced junior single-seater categories in formula racing, the Ford Formula Campus Championship continues to keep costs low and excitement high. Because FRD owns and maintains all the Formula Campus race cars, FRD can offer an affordable series to drivers while providing equal cars to all competitors. Simply put, the driver makes the difference, not his/her budget. What are the technical specs and performance for Formula Campus? 1600cc, 130HP, 5 Speed Gear Box, Tubular Steel Chassis, 480kg ; Top Speed 220km/h . Who can drive the Formula Campus? For open practice, anyone with some previous track driving experience qualifies. To race the Formula Campus, you will need a racing license. What type of license and documentation do I need to race the Ford Formula Campus Championship? Entrants must be in possession of a valid Entrants License issued by their respective National Sporting Authorities (ASN). Drivers must be registered for the Formula Campus Championship and be in possession of a valid Competition license not higher than International C from their ASN and FIA Competition license not higher than International C, as well as a current medical certificate of aptitude. Drivers up to 185cm can fit into the Formula Campus cars. If you are over 185cm fitment may still be possible but we recommend you come for a fitment check in person before signing up for a driving event. What is the racing calendar like for FRD in 2009? What is FRD Team support? FRD Team support takes care of all necessary items for your race weekend. What does this include? One professionally prepared, race-ready Formula Campus car (including fuel and tires) for the full season Series registration and entry fee Complete mechanical and logistical support at each event Car transportation, cost and management Lunch will be provided during race weekends Items not included are extra costs like spare parts, and personal costs like hotels, transportation and food (excluding lunches).
