| 2010Ford Formula Campus Championship (FFC) FRD first brought Formula Campus from France into China in 1997, the main reason being to offer a technologically advanced single-seater at low cost by keeping all cars identical. Since FRD owns and operates all the Formula Campus cars, all of them are identical mechanically and in terms of maintenance. Drivers looking for an unfair advantage are not able to buy extra tires or modify their cars in any way - thus costs are controlled, with the savings passed on to the drivers. In 2007, due to the cooperative relationship between FRD and Changan Ford, all Formula Campus race cars were updated with a more advanced Ford engine and a sequential gearbox. At the same time, the bodywork was modified to reflect more up to date aerodynamic features. In addition, compared to other series of the same level, China Formula Campus allows drivers to have a more clear vision of his/her driving style via the MoTec data analysis system & instruction from pro race instructors, which virtually guarantees faster laptimes for series drivers. FFC not only gives a huge boost to single-seater racing in Asia, but also attracts rising stars from China & the Asia region seeking to gain valuable race experience. Heading into its fourteenth season in 2010 as one of Asia's premier race categories, Changan Ford and FRD will continue to work together on the FFC project to assist more young talented drivers to go further. The championship will have four races (eight rounds) and travel to top circuits in China.
