After a long term of expecting, C1 came back to SIC on May 25, 2008. It is the second cooperation between Formula Racing Development (FRD) and One Foundation since 2007. Based on the pleasant experience of last year, we are looking forward to see a brilliant event this year.

As we all know, it is a sad period for the whole nation. The unexpected earthquake centered in Sichuan is our major concern this time. Supporting Sichuan is the main theme of 2008 “One Foundation” Celebrity Race. Our artists are willing to do whatever it takes to help the earthquake victims.

Many spectators came to see the celebrity racing and many artists came to participate in this charity event. Celebrity team has artists from HK and Mainland. Stanley Tang, Carlong Wu, Bowie Lam, Lee San San, Michelle Ye, SunNan, Jason Wu, Gao Qi, Liang Jing, Chen Juanhong, Mai Hongmei and Liu Hongying are on the team. Jet Li, the initiator of One Foundation, led the celebrity racing team warm up lap with special guest Ruby Lin and Wang Zhi Wen.

Although most of the female artists have professional drivers as co-driver throughout the whole process, yet still accident happens. Michelle Ye was hit by a car that came after her, her vehicle went out of control. Michelle Ye had no choice but step out of the competition. Chen Juanhong gave us a nice surprise by leading the female group throughout the whole racing. Chen Juanhong won the race eventually. Lee San San and Liang Jing captured 2nd and 3rd respectively. The competition in male group was more intensive. Carlong Wu is quite experienced in track racing. He overtook SunNan--the tough spot during the last 2 laps and won the race. Liu Hongyin and Gao Qi finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Artists strongly believed that they were not racing for champion, they were doing this to attract more attention to help the earthquake victims.

It is a great success, Changan Ford sponsored vehicles and Pirerri took care of the racing tyre. FRD donated all the ticket income to “One Foundation” to help the earthquake victims. Information has it that FRD is planning on hold another similar celebrity race some time in Oct. Stay tune, we'll keep you updated.
