Changan Ford Racing team brought us good news by capturing pole position, 3 rd and 6 th in yesterday's qualifying and achieved 1 st and 2 nd in the competition today. Guess that's what we call good things always come in pairs. In total, Rainey He and Henry Lee gained 18 points for the team.
The temperature was a little bit high this afternoon, that made it even tougher for the drivers. The race started at 2:40p.m. It wasn't an excellent start for pole sitter Rainey He. Ken Look from Hankook LuFang team led the race for a while. Rainey He was the 2 nd and his teammate Henry Lee was the 3 rd by then. Ben Zuo, the other driver from Changan Ford team, had to retired from the race due to mechanical problem in the first lap.
Turning point occured at the ninth lap. No.8 Liang Da Ming (Hua Yang team) drove off the track and hit the tyre barriers. So safety car was sent out and yellow flag was shown. That gave Rainey He an opportunity to narrow the gap between him and Ken Look. The race was restarted at the fifteenth lap. Rainey He put pressure on Ken Look by approaching closer. Ken Look had a blown and he had to head back to the pits and change tyre. This means Ken Look lost the opportunity to make it to the top spots when he rejoined the race dropping to the fifteen positions. That made Rainey and his teammate Henry Lee the 1 st & 2 nd and it lasted until the end of the race.

Good news brought excitement to the whole team. Rainey He said after the race ¡°I didn't start well and that made me lost the pole sitter advantage in the first place. The yellow flag indeed was the turning point for me. There were times that Henry (2 nd ) got chances to overtake me, but he chose not to and instead of that he created opportunities for me to widen lead. That's what I call team work. ¡± Kumho Tire supplied new compound tyres to the team and that played a very important role in this win.
