The 10 th round of Et-China Asian GT started at 12:15 p.m. in ZIC. Over 10,000 spectators were there at the grandstand enjoying the race weekend.
Eitan ZIDKILOV (Team DTM), winner of the 9 th round, started from pole position. He started very well and widened the distance between him and other drivers before entering Turn 1 (T1).
Several Ferrari vehicles started a fierce competition in the second lap. Car 22 Yu Kam Cheong (IMSS Racing) went off track into the sand area. Fortunately, he managed to rejoin the race very quickly. Eitan ZIDKILOV (car No.81), on the other hand, already widened his lead to four seconds.
The competition got more intense. Kenneth Ma (Galaxy FRD Racing Team), who started from the twelfth, was overtaken by Yu Kam Cheong on the straight. Marcel Tjia (car No.18) stopped around Turn 4 (T4) due to mechanical problem and retired from the race.
When the race came to mid-stage, two drivers from IMSS Racing, Oliver Lee and Eric Cheong who were occupying the 2nd and 3 rd position, started an intense competition. Michael Lee and his Corvette was following very closely to Oliver & Eric and waiting for the chance to overtake them. Eric Cheung managed to overtake Oliver Lee at T1. At that time, Oliver Lee, Eric Cheung and Michael Lee were very close to each other. Eitan ZIDKILOV (DTM), who was having a long lead, couldn't see the fierce competition behind him for he was too far away.
With only two laps to go, Michael Lee, pulled ahead of Eric Cheung after dragging behind him for most of the straight. With this nice maneuver, he made it to the podium.
Eitan ZIDKILOV (DTM) won the race by leading from start to finish and completed the two-race sweep. Oliver Lee (IMSS Racing) and Michael Lee captured 2 nd and 3 rd respectively.
This is the last planned round of Et-China AGT in 2008. Et-China AGT will come back and bring more excitement in the coming year or might even bring more action in the winter months if situation allowed.
