Geoffrey Kwong Impressed The Team With His Constant Improvement

Asian Formula Renault, the official Formula Renault series in Asia jointly promoted by FRD and ZIC, is about to welcome its last race on Dec 13, 2008. The current AFR points table leader¡ªGeoffrey Kwong did his second session of WS 3.5 test in Paul Ricard with RC Motorsport on November 7 th .

Once again, the day started in wet and James Walker (Team P1) lapped in 1:16.100 at the end of the AM Session which lowered the best time scored so far at Le Castellet (the city) by Dani Clos (1:16.156). Geoffrey's best lap time was 3 seconds slower than the new record and he did 75 laps (3-hour session) that morning which was quite a physical challenge to a driver.

Geoffrey indicated that it was a fantastic experience and he would definitely love to take more time to explore in WS 3.5 if got proper opportunity. Cristiano from tech-side of RC Motorsport indicated that the team was impressed by Geoffrey's constant improvement. ¡°Considering this was his first test in WS3.5 cars he went fast enough to take it to the WS3.5 competition.¡± Cristiano said also that the team would like to test with him again to see how far he can go. Geoffrey's team (Team PSR) manager in AFR Pekka Saarinen said:¡± Geoffrey is new to WS 3.5 which is a lot faster than FR2.0. I think he did a good job there.¡±

The speedy test in France must be a good warm-up for the upcoming final race of AFR for Geoffrey. With 4-point difference on AFR points table, Geoffrey and Jim Ka To (Second on points table) will surely put up a good fight on December 13 in ZIC. Let's wait and see!
