The “long-time-no-see” renowned Ford Formula Campus championship came back to Shanghai Tianma Circuit (STC) on 1 st , August. The qualifying session started at 12:30 on Saturday and the only female driver Diana Rosario grabbed pole position; Law Wai Lung from Baleno racing team was 2 nd and Filipe Souza qualified 3 rd .

The weather condition was unsettled and all drivers got on track early. The Macau girl Diana Rosario performed very steadily and grabbed pole position (1:12.791). Law Wai Lung had some technical problem and after adjustments he set 1:13.113 in lap 11 and qualified 2 nd . Filipe Souza set 1:13.265 and qualified 3 rd . Rich Pham, Sin Ho Ming and Sunny Wong qualified 4 th , 5 th and 6 th .

The first round was scheduled at 3:40 on Saturday afternoon but it started to rain very heavily. The weather condition got better after 4:30. The race started at 5:00 on the wet track. When the red lights were off, pole sitter Rosario got off to a good start and led the race. In lap 1, Eric Kwong did a good job by overtaking 6 cars in one lap; Daneil Amantel Gomes also started very well and he passed 3 cars in lap 1. Car No.12 went off the track at T9 and retired from the race. Safety car was sent to lead the race in lap 2. Rich Pham's vehicle had some problem in lap 6 and stopped on the track. Safety car led the race to the end and Diana Rosario, Filipe Souza and Eric Kwong finished 1 st 2 nd and 3 rd , respectively. Daneil Amantel Gomes was 4 th and Sin Ho Ming from Harbour View Hotel racing team set the best lap of round 1 (1:20.269).

The 2 nd round will be held at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday. Let's count on a good show from FFC drivers.
