2009 Asian Formula Renault championship final £º The driver's champion will be unveiled

Asian Formula Renault championship (AFR), the top single-seater series in China jointly promoted by Formula Racing Development Ltd (FRD) and Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC), will hold the final races of the 2009 season at ZIC this weekend. The championship welcomed more than thirty formula drivers from 10+ countries and regions in 2009 and the champion title competition is now focused on Luis SA SILVA (Asia Racing Team) and Alon Day (Top Speed Racing Team).

In rounds 9 & 10, SA SILVA and Day each won one winner trophy and SA SILVA is currently leading the championship by 3 points. SA SILVA and Day are both teenage drivers and their outstanding performance has drawn much attention from the public. Alon Day, the quick young driver from Israel, stood out in the invitational race at the beginning of the season and managed to stay in good form, achieving two winner trophies during AFR's first points races. Day made the podium 9 times in 10 rounds and showed good consistency. Luis SA SILVA from Angola finished 4 th in the first 4 rounds of the season and performed extremely well in Rounds 5 & 6 during the Shanghai C1 weekend, then kept his winning style in the next race weekend. After round 10, SA SILVA went to test the FR 3.5 in Spain at Renault Sport Technologies (RST)'s invitation. The Asian category, on the other hand, features Zhiqiang Zhang (March 3 racing team) on the top spot in the points table. Tengyi Jiang (FRD racing team) is currently 2 nd while Rainey He, the noted touring car driver who is also racing in the CTCC 2000cc Changan Ford team and performing well in AFR, is 4 th in the Asian category.
