Renault race cars sparkle at Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition

Renault China and Formula Racing Development Ltd. collaborated for the first time at the just concluded China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition. FRD brought two race cars to the Renault booth: a Clio III from the Clio Cup China series and a Formula Renault 2.0 race car from the Asian Formula Renault championship.

The Clio race car was indeed the cameras' favorite as it featured a sporty look and bright colors. Clio, the so called ¡°Hot Hatch¡± by race fans, is already a star in China motorsport as Clio Cup China has drawn much attention from the public in its 2009 debut. The series has attracted many drivers to join its fun competition, and international super star Aaron Kwok is also participating in the series, currently leading it by 8 points. The 8-day Guangzhou exhibition attracted more than 50,000 spectators per day. Renault, the very sporty automotive brand rooted in Europe, successfully combined the ¡°race¡± concept with production cars and enjoyed a full house during the exhibition.

Robert Chan, CEO of Renault China, indicated that Renault will focus on the China market and feature sport utility vehicles. Renault China will bring the renowned hot hatch Clio RS and the very artistic Laguna Coupe to the China market in 2010.
