AFR Round 2: Dramatic weather saw Zhicong Li the winner

It started raining at 10:40 in the morning right after the warm-up lap of AFR round 2. The race had a 10 minutes' delay and all the teams decided to use slick tires for round 2. Zhicong Li, the 17 year-old Chinese from PTRS Team, brought home his very first winner trophy of AFR Int'l category. Sandy Stuvik, the 15 year-old Thai from Asia Racing Team (ART) captured 2 nd while his teammate Suriya Bala finished the race 3 rd .

As the race went on, the track turned wet and slippery. Zhicong Li managed to capture the spotlight as he started from 8 th and moved up to position 3 before entering Turn 1 during lap 1. Sandy Stuvik got off to a good start and passed pole-sitter Shanqi Zhang at start. Suriya Bala found his way to move up to the lead, passing Zhang and Stuvik. Zhang ran off the track while trying to overtake Stuvik at T10 and retired from the race. Drivers drove very carefully during the race, trying to bring the car home safe. In the end, Zhicong Li managed to wow the public by starting from 8 th and finish 1 st . Sandy Stuvik, went through all the ups and downs, and brought his team a runner-up trophy; Suriya Bala and Samin Briceno captured 3 rd and 4 th , respectively.

PTRS driver Zhicong Li indicated that he was very happy with the result and will race with AFR the whole season. The next race of AFR will come back to CTCC event in June, at the Cheng Du International Circuit (CDIC)
