August 12 evening, 13 artists have arrived at Shanghai Radisson Hotel and ready to join the Challenge Show race weekend. As the working partner of the Challenge Show and One foundation, Radisson Hotel has pledged to make the three-day stay for the artists an enjoyable weekend.
Trying to provide opportunity for the artists to get familiar with the world renowned F1 SIC circuit, FRD, the orgainizer of the event, has scheduled two practice sessions on Saturday afternoon. Following the successful format like previous year, there is no qualifying session but rather, a draw for the grid position will be conducted Saturday night during the official welcoming dinner party.
Superstar Jet Li will be leading a group of artists and major sponsors to perform a Palm Printing Ceremony in the commercial area as the opening act of the 2010 C1 Challenge Show at noon, August 15th. After the opening, the artists will get ready to run the Celebrity Charity Race officially following by the podium ceremony and press conference after the 6-lap fight of the artist drivers.
Background information;
C1 is organized by Shanghai Automobile and Motor Sports Association (SAMSA), Shanghai International Circuit Management and Development Co., Ltd. (SIC), and Formula Racing Development Co., Ltd (FRD).
One of the main race of the C1 is the annual Celebrity Race and 2010 marks the third years in a row that FRD is cooperating with Mr. Jet Li and One Foundation to support this race.
Renault China has pledged its full support for this charitable event and will be supplying a fleet of KOLEOS SUV for artists' reception and a fleet of Megane CC for the artist Parade. Besides, other companies that are joining hand with Renault China in this meaningful project are; Changan Ford, Dunlop Tires, BALCO watch, Baleno, Tian Wang watch, and Radisson Hotel etc.
