The second round for Race 2 of the weekend started at 4:08pm, 2 minutes ahead of the schedule. Since round 1 of Saturday afternoon, all drivers and team members had enough time to get everything ready and adjust the racing cars. This weekend was a fierce competition for the 2011 AFR Series, all the drivers focused themselves toward the championship.Finally, Yuki Shiraishi ranked 1st place, followed by Alexey Karachev and Kei Yamaura.

At T4 of the 1st lap, Yuki Shiraishi missed braking immediately, losing his advantage and dropping to the 7th position but he recovered at once and kept on moving back to the first place. By lap 2, he was in the 5th position; by lap 5 the 3rd position; by lap 7, he moved to 1st place and held it until the end. His excellent performance made the whole competition even better.
The rookie driver Alexey Karachev performed well in this race too. He started at the 8th position in round 2 and after took the 5th position in the 1st lap, and climbed to 3rd position in the 2nd lap. But in lap 5, he had been overtaken by Yuki, fortunately he recovered right away and climbed to the 2nd place in lap 8.
With regard to Japanese driver Kei Yamaura, who took a good start and claimed to the 4th position in the 1st lap and kept on moving to the front. In the 8th lap, he kept away from the battle of the 2 front cars. He slipped outside the track, but recovered immediately and even claimed the 3rd position in lap 9.
After the race, Alexey Karachev expressed: ¡°I am so happy that I can claim the 2nd place, for I could not take much practice before the race. In order to take part in this competition, I have spent a lot of time traveling here and missed some practices. So I am so honored to get on the podium.¡±
The second race for the AFR Series this year, has closed with Yuki capturing the 2nd championship. Next time, the 3rd race will be joined as a part of the Pan Delta weekend on June 18-19th.
