Changan Ford Racing Team R3 Preview: Changan Ford Racing Team Go to CDIC Aiming for another win

May has been a very good month for Changan Ford. First of all, the Changan Ford Racing Team in China took a double win (driver & manufacturer) during round 2 of CTCC held in Zhuhai. Another piece of good news just came in that boosted everyone¡¯s morale even higher; while some major manufacturers suffered decline of sales, Changan Ford¡¯s sales volume in May, climbed 14% from a year earlier because of high demand of the Focus and Mondeo models.

The China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) Race 3 roars into the Chengdu International Circuit (CDIC) with engines revving this weekend (June 18-19th). The promoter, teams and drivers are already arriving at Chengdu, getting ready for the 3rd battle of the CTCC season. Changan Ford Racing Team won both CD rounds in 2010 so the team is confident and will drive hard for yet another good weekend.

Based on the data and experience gained from the previous Chengdu race, the technical team of the Changan Ford Racing Team has developed further set-up enhancements and the four drivers will proceed with the verification test as soon as they arrive at CDIC Tuesday.

John Ling, Team Manager of Changan Ford Racing Team

"Regarding the unpredictable weather in Chengdu, we will focus on planning for the flexibility of implementing set-up adjustment. We will make all preparations to counter the different conditions during practices and the race next week. On another subject, experience shows that every new young driver joining the team, will experience a learning curve. It is just a matter how long this curve is; Xialong, Tengyi, Martin, all had this issue before. As for our newest family member, Fan Gaoxiang, with his cooperation and self initiative, we will continue to help him to improve his chance for achieving excellent results with all the proper resources that we have so he can shorten this learning curve. ¡±

Andy Yan, Changan Ford Driver and winner of the Zhuhai round last month

"Although I am very familiar with this track, it will still be a great challenge to race with a burden of 100kg compensation weight. I believe our technical team is capable of minimizing the unfavorable impact of this extra weight on my car and I hope we can keep on winning. With the assistance of the other three teammates, we can achieve better results. For the drivers who did not perform well in the May race, I believe that they will try even harder in this race for the top 3 positions. So it will be an exciting event for the Chengdu Race.¡±
