Eric Lo won the Race 7 of Clio Cup China while Byron Tong qualified on pole in race 8

 

This season we use the new rule for the Clio Cup China Series: one official practice, two sections qualifying and two races in one round. The result of the first qualifying in 21st Oct will be the position of race 1 in 22nd Oct, and positions of second race on 23rd Oct depends on the result of second qualifying in 22nd Oct. This rule can reduce the relation between race 1 and 2. This season attracts many news drivers come to the race, because of the new rule.

Clio Cup China Series started at 3:40pm friday afternoon at Shanghai Audi International Circuit. British driver Steve Elmes got his pole position in race 7 by finishing his fastest lap in 2:08.723 in the qualifying. Sean He and Eric Lo respectively made the fastest lap in lap 3 with the time 2:08.784 and 2:08.842. Although, Steve Elmes made the fastest lap with the time 2:o8.723 and won the pole position. Sean He was second position who was 0.06 second slower than Steve, Eric was on 3rd position. The first qualifying was very cliffhang. The time difference between the first sever drivers were less than 1 second. The 10-lap 7th round was held at 2pm Saturday afternoon.

The second Qualifing started on Saturday 8:55, because of the morning weather, most of the drivers found the feelings after lap 5, Bryon Tong, Frank Yu and Steve Elmes got into 2.09, there was only 0.0006 second between Frank and Steve in lap 5, but only after one lap, the pole position was gained by Bryon with the time 2:08.269. The result for the qualifying 2 was: Bryon Tong, Steve Elmes, Sean He and Frank Yu. There will be a fiery competition between these four drivers.

2PM in the same day, Steve used the pole position leading the way at the beginning ; meantime, Frank had a perfect start, passed Eric Lo and Sean He, gained the second position. But after Lap 4, Eric who started from the third position passed several cars and took the first position, and leaded to the end.

In lap3, when all the audience believed the race would be over by the grid, the drivers from 2nd to 4th, had a dramatic change of the order, firstly Oliver Lee souped up and passed Frank and Steve, and followed Eric finished the race.
