The 2011 C1, FRD’s annual flagship event, was held successfully last weekend at Shanghai Audi International Circuit（SIC). C1, as one of the hottest racing weekends in China, includes Asian GT Series, AFR Series, Clio Cup China Series and the most important element of C1, the Celebrity Charity Race. FRD is one and the only racing company which combines charity, entertainment and motor sport together in a single event during all these years. Continuing the strong performance as previous years, 20,000 spectators came to SIC to support this event.

FRD co-operates with “One Foundation” again this year and with the strong support by 14 artists from different parts of China and the sponsors, 2011 C1 collected a donation of RMB 300,000 for the “One Foundation”.

Jet Li and the 13 “racing” artists attended the opening ceremony which has received the strong support of Yokohama, a major tire manufacturer and a strong supporter of this event. In the ceremony, Jet Li, also on behalf of the other artists, expressed his appreciation to all the people who came to the event. His message to the people was that the major idea of “One Foundation”; push forward the spirit of philanthropy and the theme “Try your best, Everyone helps”. After the speech, all the artists drove a fleet of Renault vehicles around the track and said hello to the spectators.

After the ceremony, the artists put on their helmets and turned their attention to the race; Chin Ka Lok, Carlo Ng, Bosco Wong, San San Lee, Niki Chow, Yoyo Mung, Kate Tse, Nick Cheung, Stephy Tang, Wen Zhang, Hong Yi and Li Hai Tao fought a strong 6-lap race. A crash in lap 1 caused by Nick forced Bosco and Kate quit from the race. Last year’s female runner-up Niki Chow had a mechanic failure in lap 4 and had to give up the race. The top 3 winners in the Male Class were Chin Ka Lok, Carlo Ng and Wen Zhang respectively. In the Female Class, Yoyo Mung and Stephy Tang finished 2nd and 3rd while San San Lee stood on the top of the podium again.
