Clio Cup China Series Round 5 started at 11 am on Dec. 12 at Zhuhai International Circuit, in which Lau Chi Yung won the championship while Louie Kwun Yun and John Shen ranked 2 nd and 3 rd respectively.

Soon after the race began, troubles happened one after another. Due to the slippery floor, no. 99 Louie Kwun Yin's car was made to spin. Also, because of collisions, the cars of no. 30 Yu Siu Fung and no. 60 Tong Siu Kau skidded and once stopped. However, they then quickly adjusted their cars to continue the race. Closely following at T4, no. 16 Wayne Shen's vision was blocked by his car's front cover and thus forced to be back to the repair zone, deplorably quitted the race. Starting from the beginning, no. 2 Lau Chi Yung had been occupying the advantageous pole position and leading till the end. Though Louie Kwun Yin ever dropped to the fifth for skidding, soon in lap 4 he overtook the contenders and rose to the second, just behind Lau Chi Yung. In the six laps afterwards, all the drivers did not give in for a moment, and the ranking remained unchanged, with Lau Chi Yung at the leading position. Besides, Yu Siu Fung continuously refurbished his best lap time, making it 1:56.925 eventually.

As round 6 was the last race of this year's Clio Cup China Series, all the winners of awards of the year would soon be known. Being the top on the classification, Louie Kwun Yin so far obtained 29 points, meaning that he would be the champion of the year provided that he could get 4 more points. With the difference in the total points between Lau Chi Yung and Louie Kwun Yin mere 7 points, two of them nearly have the same probability of becoming the champion of the year. As for Chun Kwok Hing, getting only 5 more points could take him to the second runner-up.

At 16:40, the last round started. Despite the absence of torrential rain, the presence of scattered rain made the floor slippery, adding a sense of suspense to the race.

As the race started, Lau Chi Yung continued the superiority he showed in the last round, maintaining himself at the leading position, with Louie Kwun Yin the second and Yu Siu Fung the third. In lap 3, no. 28 Chun Kwok Hing had overtaken Wayne Shen ahead of him, ranking 4 th . As no. 60 Tong Siu Kau had rushed to the buffer zone at T13, regrettably, he had to quit the race. For the rest of the competition, Lau Chi Yung, Louie Kwun Yin and Yu Siu Fung kept occupying the first three ranks. The first four ranks remained unchanged till the end. Yu Siu Fung refurbished his best lap time in the last round, making the new one 1:56.686. Eventually, Lau Chi Yung won the championship of round 6, and Louie Kwun Yin and Yu Siu Fung ranked 2 nd and 3 rd respectively.
