The last battle of the Clio Cup China Series was held at Zhuhai International Circuit. Regrettably, Aaron Kwok was not free to participate in it. As the qualifying started at 3 pm, competitors made every effort to drive for a satisfying result. Eventually, Lau Chi Yung grabbed the pole position and created the best lap time of 1:54.869 for the Clio Cup China Series.
During the first lap, all the drivers were still conservative. With the lap time of 1:58.354, no. 2 Lau Chi Yung was temporarily the first. Later in lap 2, he was overtaken by his close follower no. 30 Yu Siu Fung, who made the lap 1:57.100. But in lap 3, Lau Chi Yung re-grabbed the pole by energetically making the single lap 1:55.952, and with the difference of 0.806s, no. 28 Chun Kwok Hing rose to the second. In lap 4, Lau Chi Yung continued to refurbish his lap time and made it 1:55.291, maintaining his leading position. Meanwhile, Yu Siu Fung quickly overtook Chun Kwok Hing and became the second, and was only 0.444s lagged behind Lau Chi Yung. Making 1:55.156, he was later back to the first position in lap 6.
After the first seven laps in which Lau Chi Yung and Yu Siu Fung took turns to grab the pole, Lau Chi Yung finally re-obtained the first position and kept it till the end.
